A transmigrator from a world of neon lights and high-speed internet, reborn as the son of an ordinary merchant in a remote territory, he has lived in this world long enough to nearly forget his previous life.1 He holds the hidden "library administrator" privilege of the Great Dao Book Pavilion, a white jade palace in the depths of his soul.1 He spent more than ten years on a Qi Refinement Method that showed no results, broke through to the first layer less than a month before the lord's attendant came, and cannot abandon cultivation because Refining Essence into Qi binds essence, qi and spirit so tightly that abandoning it would wreck body and soul.325145 His family of small merchants could never gather enough gold for refining; his father later rose on apprentice-family subsidies, and his parents remain healthy but distant.735

His local lord, a second-level wizard, sent him to the Noren Academy aptitude test, and he chose Alchemy as the discipline best suited to adapting the Book Pavilion's knowledge and disguising his powers.13 The Level-Two Cultivation Protocol, granted after his White Iron Insulating Material passed the highest-level evaluation, clears his identity: under the Star Orbit Tribunal's covenant no wizard may seize a non-spy's knowledge, so cultivation knowledge passes as genius wizardry.1314 He concludes the Pavilion gave him only Refining Essence into Qi because the wizard world has no spiritual qi, and that the decade spent reaching the first layer built a "converter" in his body.34 His research direction is "dual-system fusion"; he rates his own talent as decent rather than top and credits his progress to the Pavilion's cross-system knowledge.167293333 He later counts nature cultivation as a third independent multiplier on his power, calls himself a staunch materialist and names his path the idealism of "firmly holding to materialism."357358 His income rests on the protocol patent, liquid Essence Gold, spiritual qi sales and, later, the Blood Sacrifice Method.268306
