Black Giant legion¶
Jie Ming's core armed force,40 a bred colony of Black Giants based on the Infernal Sulfur Plane.41 It numbers ten billion,42 with about ten million sixth-level Black Giants but only four seventh-level ones.55 Dead units return to the Infernal Sulfur Plane through the Dao Soldier System, so the legion detonates without fear.57
Overview¶
The colony grows through incubation pools, a full year per Black Giant before the seventh-level pool and one per minute per pool afterward,2 with elites evolved over centuries of devouring and selection.12 Priests are born naturally once the population passes a critical point,6 about one per ten million Black Giants.7 Population passes three billion by the Molten Fire Celebration11 and is capped at just over ten billion by plane size.26 Black Giants earn advancement resources through merit and missions.40
In the field the legion waits in Jie Ming's inner world and deploys through teleportation light.45 It fights with obsidian axes, tower shields, chest-fissure energy breath and priest-cast barriers,19 holds the advantage in sixth-level exchanges with absorb-and-return tactics,46 and cycles its dead back in through a resurrection altar.35 Against eighth-level enemies it can only buy time by self-detonating.58 Between wars millions of Black Giants serve as labor on the refinement ring and the Creation System.4348 It holds a once-a-decade Molten Fire Celebration with war dances around the Eternal Furnace.11
Structure¶

- Priests: Born at roughly one per ten million, five or six a year; staff numbered project teams such as Seven and Three;7 each equal to a strong sixth-level creature;8 run research and construction in the Master's absence;10 over a hundred million by Ch949.62
- Seventh-level Black Giants: Four, led by Molten Mountain,53 ten thousand meters tall.57
- Sixth-level Black Giants: The upper tier over a thousand meters tall;29 about ten million;55 lead the charge, each elite carrying one Talisman-Rune Artifact.45
- Fifth-level warriors and engineering Black Giants: the bulk, over nineteen million on construction works alone.48
- Elite battle groups: Return to Ruins Armor and palm artifacts storing one Trigram Fire Annihilation Divine Light each.29
